Two elderly residents of Emakhandeni township in Bulawayo, were recently remembered when the Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT) handed them $50 each under the trust’s monthly Business Social Credit Scheme (BSCS).
Situated in one of Bulawayo’s oldest townships of Mpopoma, is Vulindlela Orphanage, which has become a refuge for many children across Zimbabwe’s second largest city.
Leonard Mamvura, one of the beneficiaries of the ZDDT and Sally Foundation Training on Starting and Managing Small Businesses, said the two organisations had impacted their lives for the better.
The community surrounding Emganwini’s Greenfields Garden is already benefiting from the ZDDT supported project.
Bulawayo’s youngest councillor, Mlandu Ncube, who represents Ward 1 in the city, says he has, over the past five years, learnt that a good leader is one who allows people to give direction.
