In a clear demonstration of its commitment to youth empowerment and forward-thinking development, Green Gardens has taken a decisive step toward integrating innovation with community upliftment.

This strategic move signals a promising shift toward creating new opportunities, while carefully laying the groundwork for an ambitious initiative yet to be fully unveiled.

Green Gardens recently undertook an insightful and forward-looking visit to the Uncommon Innovation Hub in Emganwini, a vibrant and purpose-driven space that is steadily transforming lives through technology.

The visit was intentionally aimed at preparing the gardeners for the upcoming installation of their own innovation hub in Sizinda.

The Uncommon Innovation Hub compellingly provides young school leavers, particularly those who may not have excelled in formal education; with a valuable second chance to acquire practical digital skills for sustainable self-employment or meaningful employment.

“The innovation hub is designed to give those who were not able to attain O’level with a chance to attain digital skills and start a career,” pointed out Dylan Mangwaro, Uncommon Bulawayo
Coordinator, during his presentation.

During the visit, the Green Gardens team enthusiastically and attentively engaged with trainers and students, observing first-hand how innovation is nurtured from the ground up.

Through lively discussions and interactive exchanges, the gardeners gained a clearer and deeper understanding of the programme’s structure, impact, and day-to-day operations.

“We would like to thank the Uncommon team for hosting us today as we have learnt a lot and are now able to visualise our upcoming innovation hub,” commented Kettie Sibanda Green Gardens chairperson.

The experience proved invaluable, offering practical insights and renewed confidence as Green Gardens steadily and intentionally prepares to establish a similar hub in Sizinda; one that promises to empower youth, stimulate creativity, and unlock new pathways to economic independence.
