Geraldine Roche Drama (GRD) programme co-ordinator, Miss Khaliphile Sibanda, has advised that all crew members for the upcoming drama series, Ziyathunqa, should participate in an online training course about Covid-19 regulations.

In an interview with this reporter, she said, “They have to go through this process as they will be interacting with people on set; therefore they have to be well versed in the regulations so that they are able to control the cast on set. We did this as a measure to protect the crew, at the same time keep working during the trying time of Covid-19.”

She added that, for the series, there will be a call for auditions this week. This is a first for GRD as it will also cater for minority languages such as Sotho and Khalanga, only spoken in very small areas of Zimbabwe.

“It is important for someone to take these auditions seriously and get into character as this will determine whether they feature in the series or not. These auditions will be done online as a way of following the Covid-19 regulations relating to large gatherings. The poster will be out on Thursday on the GRD Face book page”, said Miss Sibanda.

ZDDT programmes continue despite the constraints of the virus lockdown, as the trust seeks to deliver on its promised outcomes, no matter the circumstances.
