- Written by: Nozibusiso Sivalo

Practical, hands-on learning is equipping GRAA Level 1 students with the creative skills and confidence needed to bring compelling stories to life through film and theatre.
Creativity and storytelling continue to flourish as GRAA Level 1 students make remarkable progress in developing the essential skills needed for film and theatre production.
Through interactive, hands-on learning sessions, the aspiring creatives are steadily building the confidence and technical expertise required to transform ideas into compelling scripts.
During a recent practical session, GRAA coordinator and facilitator, Mazwendoda Ndlovu, guided the students through the fundamentals of script development by presenting them with a story idea and encouraging them to naturally develop dialogue using their own language and expressions.
The approach allowed participants to explore authentic storytelling while gaining a deeper understanding of character development, scene construction, and dialogue writing.
To reinforce the lesson, students were assigned the task of producing a complete script based on the story concept, providing them with an opportunity to apply the techniques learned and take another important step in their journey towards becoming skilled scriptwriters and filmmakers.
