The ongoing GRAA Level 1 training programme is equipping participants with practical and creative skills across multiple disciplines in the performing and media arts, as trainees actively engage in hands-on lessons covering filming, behind-the-scenes production work, scriptwriting, editing, and theatre performance.
The sessions are designed to nurture well-rounded storytellers by blending technical instruction with artistic exploration, enabling learners to understand not only how stories are performed but also how they are conceptualised, captured, and refined for audiences.
Facilitated by experienced trainers Mazwendoda Ndlovu (ZDDT) and Thando Ndlovu from Bulawayo Theatre, the workshops have been lively, immersive, and skill-intensive, with students enthusiastically practising camera handling, stage movement, voice projection, and scene interpretation.

Participants have also been introduced to editing techniques and production planning, gaining insight into the collaborative processes that happen behind the curtain.
The training continues to inspire confidence and creativity, with many learners expressing excitement at the opportunity to develop industry-relevant skills under the guidance of seasoned mentors.
