Sparking excitement among local gardeners, construction of the Uncommon and Green Gardens Innovation Hub is underway, with the foundation already laid and anticipation building as key infrastructure is set to arrive.

Ground has officially been broken, marking a major technological step forward for community-driven agriculture and sustainable development.

This signals tangible progress as stakeholders now await the arrival of a key shipping container that will form part of the hub’s infrastructure.

The initiative is expected to provide a collaborative space for local out of school youth to develop their tech talents alongside experiments with climate-smart agriculture, share knowledge, and build livelihoods rooted in sustainability.

Excitement is already growing among community members, particularly local gardeners who see the hub as a transformative opportunity for their youth.

Chairperson of the garden, Ketie Sibanda, expressed heartfelt gratitude and enthusiasm for the project, noting that it brings renewed hope and practical support to those passionate about agriculture.

She highlighted the potential for skills development, improved productivity, and stronger community networks, describing the innovation hub as a long-awaited investment in both youth and the future of Green Gardens.
