Bulawayo -  A Nketa-based orphanage has been poured an ointment of hope, after they were given garden equipment worth hundreds of US Dollars, to start producing their own nutritional products.

Good Hope Orphan Care, a community based organisation, have been boosted through the donation of equipment including shovels, watering cans, knapsacks and forks.

The donation was presented on behalf of ZDDT to the founding mother of the orphanage, Mrs. Betty Chiwambo Marovanyanga, by Bongani ‘Bongo’ Mabhena, of Young at Heart Foundation.

The Young at Heart Foundation is currently facilitating the ZDDT-Geraldine Roche partnered theatre programme aimed at helping in the rehabilitation of abused children.

Mrs. Marovanyanga shed tears of joy as she received the equipment. “I am at a loss of words as this came to us as a surprise Christmas gift. I would like to say to ZDDT and your partners that you are our God given rescuers as your gestures have rekindled our hopes for a better tomorrow.”

She went on to say, “You have actually pushed us high by giving us a fishing rod rather than giving us fish. We are going to do our fishing and will make sure that we come out with more fish that will one day reach your offices, as a thank you for the life-moulding donation.”

Orphans Sithembile, Precious and Thulani took turns to thank the Trust for the donation. “We are very grateful to receive this blessing from ZDDT and their partners. We say to the organization, God bless you and add more from where the cash to buy was plucked from. Thank you ZDDT… Thank you our life saver… lingadinwa lakusasa, because we are your children.”
