Graham Shaw from the Zimbabwe Victims' Support Fund (ZVSF) paid a special visit to Sizinda’s Green Gardens, a thriving community garden project supported by the ZDDT and Sally Foundation.
The visit was part of a fact-finding mission by ZVSF, as the organisation explores ways to incorporate self-sustainability and the self-help concept into its upcoming projects.
During the tour, the Green Gardens committee proudly showcased their progress, highlighting infrastructure, the variety of crops being cultivated and the community’s growing skills in urban agriculture.
“We’re looking for practical models that empower communities to stand on their own, and what we’ve seen here is inspiring,” said Mr. Shaw. “This is the kind of initiative we aim to replicate, community-driven, sustainable, and impactful.”
The visit underscores growing interest in grassroots food security projects that not only feed families but also restore dignity and independence to vulnerable populations.
