Investment objectives:
To create a five star destination, in the boutique Safari Lodge style, catering to the needs of the exclusive top level client who values the privacy advantages and beauty of remote wilderness areas. As a consequence meeting their every need to earn a greater than average return on capital invested.
To enjoy the social credits associated with contributing in no small way to:
The development and self sufficiency education of the adjacent poor rural community.
The development of a long lasting productive relationship between Government, the private sector and the rural community.
To the restoration of fauna and flora in such a manner as to ensure their long term conservation.
To operate a commercial, profit centred business in harmony with the environment and capitalise fully upon the marketing opportunities that such credits would afford
Modus Operandi
- Negotiate a fifty year lease with the rural council. It is probable that this is attainable given the level of proposed investment in permanent structures on the concession.
- Decide on the major target market, research and identify that market’s needs so that they may be provided for in the most explicit manner possible.
- Adopt and maintain an enviro-friendly policy towards the lodge and the development/refurbishment of all its facilities, focussing on providing -for the “green” conservationist market.
- Install wind and/or solar power generation plants so that there is a continual supply of electrical power that is both clean and reliable.
- Convert the rooms and other facilities into top class, architect designed, permanent structures (probably granite under thatch so that they fit naturally and un-imposingly with their environment).
- Increase the beds from ten to twenty by the construction of a further five rooms including a selection of twinned double rooms to cater for families.
- Include with each room a private entertainment area
- Redesign and refurbish the communal living area providing for group interaction as well as individual privacy.
- Develop all services to exceed five star classification. Re-train existing staff and where necessary employ/import required skills.
- Redesign existing and introduce new lodge amenities to add value and variety to guest amenities. (Health spa facilities)
- Purchase all machinery and equipment necessary to expand and maintain the game related activities i.e. drives, walks, viewing platforms and hides etc. Seek out and find ways to best view specialist species.
- Specifically design high value game related activities aimed at achieving the greatest possible and most memorable wildlife interaction experience for guests.
NOTE: it is deemed that the combination of the following will provide the springboard for a successful venture: a resident owner/manager; community development and environmental conservation activities; enviro friendly facilities/activities and a specifically selected target market with an appropriately effective marketing plan. Management involvement in community development and National Parks management activities are deemed imperative to the long term success of the venture. Being a key player and prime motivator in the development a genuinely productive partnership between private enterprise, the government and the rural community is the basis for the survival and recovery of wildlife in the area, the life blood of the venture.
