The Zimbabwe Democracy Development Trust (ZDDT) continues to motivate Residents toward implementation and maintenance of Community Restoration Projects.__________________
Bulawayo: The Councillor for Ward 11, Emakhandeni Township, Mr. Nduna M Dladla, together with his Community Action Team [CAT], attended a motivational workshop, held 15 December 2009, at the ZDDT’s offices in the CBD.
Mr. Bruce Mtengwa, the organisation’s Provincial Development Officer, facilitated. He told participants, that the objective of the exercise was to instill the need for the fostering of relationships among residents, the Municipality and other relevant stakeholders. Mr. Mtengwa also stressed the importance of local society taking ownership over public amenities and community development projects.
He said that those factors, when combined, fitted neatly into ZDDT’s well received Sebenzela/ Work for … programme, which is a concept that encourages residents to work together with elected Councillors and the local authority, in order to resuscitate their areas.
During the tea break, Mr. Simon Spooner, the organisation’s National Development Officer, provided an interesting respite when he gave delegates a talk on the essence of democratic processes in roles of leadership.
