BELMONT, BULAWAYO - Freight Consultants, a Bulawayo company, contributing to the Zimbabwe Development Democracy Trust (ZDDT)’s ongoing monthly Business Social Credit Scheme (BSCS), has reaffirmed its commitment to the unique scheme.

Under the BSCS, ZDDT, with funding from Freight Consultants, Sally Foundation of Australia and other companies, donate much neededfunds to families carefully selected by area councillors in consultation with community-based leadership.

ZDDT News recently caught up with Freight Consultants director, Lily Milne, at their company premises in Belmont to understand what inspired them to contribute to the scheme.

“We started contributing to this scheme around 2011, if I am not mistaken, and we were inspired by the need to just help the less fortunate than us,” said Milne.

“We have supported them during hard times, and we will not stop supporting them.”

She said her company values corporate social responsibility, describing it as “very important.”

“For us, this is very important because, in our country, so many people go without,” she said while adding that such people require assistance from corporates.

Asked what her word was to other corporates, Milne had this to say: “They (other corporates) can easily spare a small amount every month to give to charity because a lot of these people that receive small donations are not normally helped by other charitable organisations.”
