From Puppetry to Counselling

Bulawayo – In yet another positive ZDDT development affecting the local community, the Geraldine Roche Drama puppetry couple, Nanzile and Bongo, are now Child Counsellors having completed their training funded by Geraldine Roche.

The changing roles of the HIV positive couple comes as a blessing for local people as they are now “Ambassadors of protection” for the young ones, both in schools and beyond.

“We are very grateful and will work tirelessly in curbing all forms of abuse. We are really on a mission to restore the lost pride and hope in our youth and future leaders of tomorrow,” said Nanzile. Nanzile and Bongo have been married for a couple of years and are relaxed about their HIV positive status.

The two, who are known in their puppetry theatre as Young at Heart, are currently engaged in counselling sessions with Good Hope orphans in Nketa, where heartbreaking ordeals are revealed.
