Evaluation meetings provide essential measuring tools for service delivery
Written by Lewis Jones, ZDDT Field Correspondent Monday, 01 August 2011 12:19
BULAWAYO – Meetings to evaluate progress being achieved in the ongoing ZDDT Local Authority Capacity Building Programme have, since it’s on-set, become a regular feature in the Trust’s weekly diary. The gatherings, comprising of senior officials from the City’s Cleansing and Parks Services, usually take place on Mondays. They are used to gauge the Programme’s successes and seek means to optimise these, while also looking at its failures, with a view to finding most appropriate solutions.
Such meetings are customarily chaired by ZDDT Bulawayo PDO Bruce Mtengwa, who is also the Trust’s team member responsible for coordinating activities in the field. Simon Spooner, in his capacity as the Trust’s NDO, provides valuable guidance interventions that are essential to these events.
Trends emerging from the exercises suggest that participants are increasingly coming up with refinements or alternatives to methods used in the Programme’s implementation processes. It is projected, that this will, in turn, contribute significantly to improved service delivery by the Local Authority.
