Sebenzela programme rolls on
Written by Lewis Jones, ZDDT Field Correspondent Tuesday, 30 August 2011 15:43
BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe –A series of recent environmental clean-up campaigns in Ward 14, presided over by incumbent Cllr. P. Z. Ndlovu, stand as testimony to the success of ZDDT’s on-going SEBENZELA/ Work for ... Programme.

Cllr. Ndlovu helped overcome logistical challenges by securing the use of trucks and a front-end loader from the City Council for the purpose of refuse removal.
This demonstrates the One Community ideal wherein excellent relations exist between the residents, Councillors and the Local Authority Officials.
The Programme, designed to restore local communities through the concept of self-help and local ownership of their resources and challenges, is now entrenched as a concept within communities, some two years since inception.
These activities are testimony to the effectiveness of the Trust’s various interventions designed to stimulate enhanced service delivery, improve living conditions in local communities and restore confidence in the democratic process of electing local representatives.
