Bulawayo councillors praise leadership workshops

BULAWAYO – A leadership workshop held recently at a lodge situated ten kilometres south, along the Matopos Road, came in for praise from participants, comprising of Councillors from the City`s twenty nine Wards.Cllr. Monica Lubimbi of Ward 29 said that she found facilitation at the training excellent and added: “Knowledge gained at this workshop will undoubtedly contribute towards making effective leaders out of those who participated.” These sentiments were mirrored by Cllr. Norman Hlabani, Ward 26, while Ward 28 Councillor, Edward Ndlovu, said he found the training to be most empowering and that it provided a vision for good leadership qualities
Workshop facilitator, Leo Mupezani, who put on a sterling show, said the training`s objective was aimed at concientising Councillors on their leadership roles, in the context of delivering effective service and with a view to improving revenue collection.
The training which was entitled, “Effective Service Delivery Workshop,” received financial support from GIZ with assistance from the German Government.
