City of Aberdeen charity representative takes tour of Bulawayo's nutritional gardens
Written by Lewis Jones, ZDDT Field Correspondent Monday, 31 October 2011 15:44
BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe – A charitable organisation, based in The City of Aberdeen, recently visited Zimbabwe’s second largest city on various assignments. These included assessing the viability of ZDDT Ward based nutritional gardens with a view to providing further assistance.

Dr. Ian Oliver, a trustee of the charity A to Z Trust, was taken by Team ZDDT on a tour of the Glenkara Homes Nutritional Garden at Nketa 9, in Ward 25. There he met with some of the beneficiaries of the Garden as well as Committee office bearers. Unfortunately Cllr. Edward Ndlovu could not attend.
Asked about the purpose for his visit to the site, Dr. Oliver said that he was to take a look at a selection of nutritional gardens acting on behalf of The City of Aberdeen and the Bulawayo Trust. This, he said, was to determine the extent of assistance that would be needed. The City of Bulawayo is twinned with Aberdeen and the two cooperate in educational, business, cultural and sporting exchange programmes designed to mutually benefit residents of both Municipalities.
A to Z Trust and ZDDT enjoy an excellent working relationship which is effective in providing linkage with well-wishers abroad in fundraising activities aimed at assisting less privileged in Zimbabwe.
